Copy This! #7

Copy This! #7 is a 44-page, B&W info and news mini comic zine about mini (and other) comics. Published by D. Blake Werts. This issue features cover art by Mary Fleener and includes the minicomic WeirdX by Bob X, his first mini since 1988!

Blake is planning an all art issue of Copy This! If you’d like to have your art considered for publication you need to send it in by 15 Dec 2014. Keep in mind your art should be formatted to fit a mini (5.5” x 4.25”) and be kept to a PG-13 type of rating. Check out Blake’s contact info at the end of this thing if you need to contact him for more details.

This issue’s spotlight interview by Blake is shone on the Queen of Cubismo, Mary Fleener! Mary talks about her early interest in comics being born out of the Sunday comics, single panel gags in Playboy, Mad Magazine, and Zap Comix. She also talks about how she got into publishing her own mini-comix and zines and some of the people that she collaborated with. Blake explores Mary’s interests and graphic works in politics, blues, and voodoo! Blake and Mary also discuss her influences, unique style, creative process, musical endeavors, and the current state of mini-comics!

The second part of Copy This! provides info and updates on a bunch of different creators within the mini comics/zine/small press community complete with current offerings and ordering information.
