This is a great, whimsical book made up of a tapestry of fun words and pictures! It humorously describes the power poems in an inventive form that's sure to please. The words of the poem come to life through playful illustrations that give the poem a physical form that leaps from page-to-page across the first half of the book! The second half of the book is made up of what is titled a “Rogues Gallery of Poets.” This gallery features short bios of the poets that authored the poems represented in POEM: A Mashup. Included alongside the bios are interpretive portraits of the poets as they may have (or possibly not) looked. The bios give a glimpse into the creative minds responsible for the words used to tell this imaginative, ingeniously illustrated cento!
