Set in 1984 West London, a group of friends strengthen
existing bonds and form new ones around the opening of a Scottish vegetarian
bar, the Monkey Nukes! Over the course of a year the group of writers,
artists, and other free spirits explore the depths of their friendships and
nature of their relationships. Among the sexually adventurous, drug addicted,
and entrepreneurs one central character emerges that connects them all, Adam.
Adam’s story of self-discovery carries the reader through the streets, pubs,
and apartments of West London where we are introduced to an assortment of
unique and interesting personalities. Each character is driven by their own
individual motivations and ideologies. They each have their own voice that we
hear through Adam’s ears as he attempts to navigate the confusing relationships
he has with each of them. Through it all Adam leads the reader across a journey
of love, loss, and discovery.
