This is a neat comic that provides two perspectives on a series of events throughout the month of July. The comic’s creators each record their experiences as they both try to make it as artists, near the 30-year mark in their lives, and share a loving relationship while traveling together between Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Portland.

It’s interesting to read each person’s interpretation of a shared event and see how they choose to illustrate it. The details in both the written and graphic descriptions give some insight into the focus of each of the creators and what they thought was most significant about each day they documented.

Both Melinda and Aaron illustrate their portions of Bangs & Beards Diary with cartoony and expressive drawings that really compliment the cheerful theme of the comic and make it a fun read!
